VRSI provides training and employment services for veterans. If you need work we can help. VRSI will assist in every step of the way to place into employment and assist you with upto $400.00 in employment supportive assistance. Once we get you a job we can help with the purchase of uniform, shoes, boots, gas to get you to work, bus pass, and many other similar items.
VRSI has been serving veterans in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties since April, 2009. During the last three years VRSI has, on average, assessed 347 veterans, enrolled into our program 120 veterans, and placed into employment 84 homeless veterans annually.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor provides and coordinates a wide range of rehabilitation counseling and case management services to veterans with disabilities and other eligible individuals. Performs initial evaluations, does rehabilitation planning and problem solving, and conducts counseling. Duties include coordination and implementation of rehabilitation services, case documentation, employment services, and administration and interpretation of vocational testing. Make recommendations and referrals to other sources, which may assist the veteran/client.
Vocational rehabilitation evaluations may include: comprehensive client background interview, occupational interest testing, achievement testing, aptitude testing, work samples/tasks, situational work tasks, career exploration & counseling, and staffing of results.
